How To Make Sure You Have An Amazing Wedding!

If you are coordinating any party, either a wedding, or other party such as a birthday or graduation party, it is important that you select a band that provides entertainment likely to appeal to the vast majority of guests who will be attending.

There is a lot of work involved in planning a wedding reception. There are a lot of details to be arranged for the wedding itself and of course, planning a wedding reception is a big job in itself.

There are many things to think about when organising your event, but surely one of the most important is the musical entertainment.

There are several options you could choose, but the most common choices are to hire either a live wedding band or a DJ to provide music.

Live music can really help make your event that bit more special, but what things should you look out for before hiring a live band?

Please ask some of your guests beforehand what music they would like to have at the event.

Many event coordinators forget to do this and book up a band that appeals to them personally. Remember it is the guests' views that are important.

The next thing that you should do is try catch them performing live. Most bands also perform occasionally in small venues such as pubs and clubs.

If you can't get to see them live at least get them to give you a demo CD or preferably a video which will give you a good idea of their suitability for your event.

It is important to know their level of professionalism and expertise. Find out how long they have been playing together as a band.

Most bands have biographies in their written information or on their website. This will give you an idea of the professionalism of the party band as a whole.

As a first step to finding a wedding band surf the internet and look at different band websites. Each website usually provides you with photos, videos, and musical tracks. All of these things will help you to make a decision.

If you are lucky enough to come across testimonials on the website, you will want to read through them in order to see just how much their previous customers enjoyed their music. If the repertoire of the band is listed, you will want to pay attention to that.

Try searching for a live wedding band which will appeal to different types of people. For example progressive jazz or heavy rock appeals to only a small majority of people. Something like 70's soul or disco music appeals to most ages.

Price will also enter into your decision.  Once you've agreed on a price, ensure that it's specified in the contract.

When you sign a contract for the band to perform, they will usually require a non-refundable deposit to save the date of the wedding, so make sure that your wedding date is firm before you hire a wedding band.

About a week before your wedding party you will want to call the wedding band to confirm the details of your event. 

Please also be aware that the band is likely to have travelled a long way to play, so be sure to provide them with food and drink.

Lastly give the timelines of your event so that they know exactly when they will be performing.
